LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING

I came across this battery powered razor when I saw one of my roommates using It, and I’ll be honest, the only reason I wanted to try one out for myself was because it was shiny and had a trimmer on the other end. I have never seen a razor/trimmer. It kind of reminded me of the time in elementary school when I first saw a wooden pencil sharpened at both ends. “That is such a good idea!” I thought to myself. I decided I wanted one for myself so I picked one up from Wal-Mart for a hefty $12.95 and was on my way. It also came with on AA battery. “Introducing the first and only razor that shaves, edges and trims!” This was on the back of the package. I must admit I was pretty excited to meet this razor. A razor that shaves, edges and trims? Where can a well groomed man go wrong? Well I’m about to tell you.

I shaved around my chin and neck with the four blade titanium razor. As I looked into the mirror to check out my own work I thought “ehhh…” I was not impressed. Before the Schick Titanium Quattro Trimmer, I used to shave with those cheaper disposable razors. Usually the ones with two blades and sometimes three. I realized that this shave was really no different from the shave I got from the cheap disposables. It was just more expensive. But before I could bow my head in defeat, I 180’d the Schick and began to trim my beard. Now on the trimmer side, there is an adjustable guard that retracks to four different length settings. The guard also comes off completely for an even closer trim. I began to trim using the guard on the first setting. I had some difficulty with the trimmer. It was getting caught up a lot and I was not sure if It was even cutting. After a few minutes I became irritated with the trimmer. It was giving a pretty low quality cut. Anyway I finished up with and decided that this razor was not all I thought it would be.

For anyone looking for a two in one trimmer/razor combination, this probably is not the one! Ive decided to stick with the cheap disposable razor and to just use a normal trimmer for my beard.
