Not what I expected.
Date of Review: Apr 3, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would recommend a less expensive set of headphones, the comfort and sound don't outweigh having static and hissing.
I previously owned the Sennheiser T40 and was impressed with the range and sound quality, but I use them while I am working around the house and yard and every time I bent over they fell off. I thought I'd shop for a better set.
The RS130 headset is so comfortable, very lightweight, blocks out just enough outside sound, and never falls off my head when I move around.
The sound quality when sitting in the same room is very good. As a matter of fact the sound quality when further away is probably just as good if I could hear it above the hissing/static sound. It is very annoying.
I use it most often in my kitchen which is about 40 ft from where it is located - in direct line (no walls, etc) and I get constant hiss. As I write this, I am in a room also 40 ft away with 3 walls in between and the hiss is negligible. I have checked my kitchen for possible interferences - can't explain.
I don't have enough range to even go outside, which I could with the T40.
Overall, I am disappointed for the amount of money I spent.
