The plastic door opener melts!

I used the back burner on my stove for the first time today and then tried to open the microwave door, but it just jammed in and would not open the door. I managed to pop the door opener out and when I looked at it, the plastic was not aligned. It looked like it was melted. I saw the other review on here with the same situation and realized that this is indeed what has happened. I have no idea if my unit is still under warranty as it came with our place when I bought it. If I have to pay alot to replace this part, I'll just have to get a new microwave. It is ridiculous that I cannot use one of the burners on the stove for fear of melting the microwave door opener! Which genius decided to put plastic parts above a stove!? What a poor decision just to save a few bucks.

Also, I agree that the lighting is horrible on the microwave and the ventilation is non-existent - all it does is make noise, but does nothing...
