Good Air Purifier
Date of Review: Aug 15, 2009
The Bottom Line: This is the best filter I could find for the size. Lots of great features and fits easily in a corner (even though more effective in middle of room).
I've had the Sharp for about a year now. It works great. Lots of different features like the Ion control and Plasmacluster thing. Not so sure what they really do but it all works.
Keeps smells down and the air fresh. I turn it on and use the timer so it turns off after a couple hours. Or use the Quick Clean function that runs for 15 min on med the switches to Auto.
The Silent modes just isn't silent enough for me. It seems inconsistent, the fan revs up and down and keeps me up at night, so I either turn it off or leave on auto.
Cleaning the filters is easy, vacuum the wire one then rinse the charcoal one. Only had to do every 6 month I think. A light tells you when its time. I think I might need a new Charcoal part soon. But everytime I vacuum I try and get the screen and the air quality sensor. The main filter the big Hepa lasts a long time before it needs replacing. The remote is has all the options on it and has lights off mode which is a nice function.
Overall we've been very happy about the filter. Havent notice much increase in engery bills but we don't run it all the time because often we have doors and windows open.
