Soleus LX-120 got me through one summer only

We bought this to get us through the heat waves here in Northern CA. It cooled the bedroom beautifully for about 2 months. Then started to rattle. It got really LOUD! It sounded like something was coming apart inside. We did not want to send it back and endure the heat so we waited. The noise stopped. This season we go to turn it on and it does not work. Husband opened it up to find pieces of the internal fan everywhere. We tried to order the part but the company says an HVAC person must order it. They do not let consumers buy parts!! The cost of an HVAC person to our house and then ordering the part, in addition to the $500 we spent in the first place... Also, no guarantee the thing won't eat itself again. So, it worked for about 3 months at $500. Those were expensive months. AVOID THIS PRODUCT! THE COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BY IT!!!
