Cons:
Very expensive, software and menus design are not the best, obscenely expensive accessories.
The Bottom Line:
Do not buy this camera. It is pretty and well built, but that's about it. It is over-priced, poorly desgined.

Author's Review
The camera is sturdy and feels good in the hand. It's heft suggests that it is a solidly built camera of substance. I previously owned two other Sony cameras which were both well designed and easy to use. That is hardly the case with this camera. Although this camera has numerous laudable features, it falls far short of being worth its $400.00 price tag.
Display: The camera's display is crystal clear. Photos are rendered crisply.
Internal Memory: One problem with this camera is unfortunately it's greatest feature. The on board memory allows you to store almost 1,000 10M images, but you cannot transfer images between the internal memory and a memory stick (Sony's own Memory Stick Duo) inserted in the camera. This is a HUGE shortcoming. If you do not have a printer or use an on-line media service, the only way that you can effect the transfer of images is to first move the images to a computer and then on to removable media. Additionally, if you connect the camera to a digital TV to view your photos, you cannot access any images that may already be stored on the removable media.
Docking/Charging Station: There is no docking/charging station provided with this $400.00 camera with which to easily transfer pictures or recharge the battery. The station can be purchased as an accessory for $69.99. Without the docking/charging station you must constantly remove the battery from the camera in order to recharge it. On the issue of accessories - a case with cost you $29.99.
Battery: Battery life is a bit less than desired. Our battery died after approximately 2.5 hours of use (over the course of two days of taking and reviewing photos). The battery is the exact same size, voltage and wattage as the batteries used in previous DSC models with one small exception. The depth of a small recess on the edge of the battery has been reduced by approximately 1/16th of an inch to prevent you from using any of the otherwise identical batteries from a previous DSC model.
Software and Menu Navigation: The provided software is rather intrusive and unecessary considering the myrid of photo management software programs that come pre-loaded on many computers. Menu navigation is okay at best. Some features are buried several sub-menus deep and on occasion seem disjointed and unconnected. Some menus flow easily while other sub menus are balky and poorly designed.
Features: The camera is feature laden, but unfortunately many of these features such as scene recognition, face filter, and music slide-show will go mostly unused.
Touchscreen: In this day and age of touchscreen devices, Sony fails to take advantage of recent advances in this technology. Instead of making the use of the camera more interesting, easy or entertaining - the Sony DSC-T700's touchscreen ends up being more of a gimmick.
Sony Stores: If you buy this camera and later return it. Sony will charge you a 20% re-stocking fee. We will readily absorb the $80.00 loss to be free of this camera.
Lastly, this camera is very impractical. Four hundred dollars buys you a bit of style, but very little promise with respect to the capabilities of this camera.
