bang for yar buck

I just bought these cans a few hours ago so it still hasn't been "burned" in yet..BUT I am already satisfied with the sound. For $40 bucks CDN, it's a very good price/performance ratio. I thought about getting the MDR-XD300 for double the price but I didn't feel that the extra quality didn't justify the price.

Anyway, I'm not an audiophile, so I won't be dishing out the technical jargon..all I can say is what I feel about the sound..I'm listening to Christina Aguilera's "Stripped" album atm, which has plenty of treble and bass. The headphones are doing quite a good job, with tight bass, and an equally clear treble. Can't ask for more than that.

What is a little troubling is that

Some cons. The headphones can swivel vertically just a little bit to accomodate people's head shapes. This swivel mechanism feels fragile, it seems very easy to break if you were to force it beyond its design. The frame is mostly made out of plastic which addes to this fragility within the swivel.
