Solid low-end performers

I picked these up for general PC/Portable/Stereo use until I find a high-end pair that suit my needs. The headphones were bought on the high-street in Borders bookshop in York (UK).

Returning to proper headphones from using portable units brought home just how much of a difference even the basic models make to sound quality.

The cord length provides flexibility for Audio-Visual applications (TV/DVD/PC) and the small phono jack allows portable audio use too. Unfortunately, the unit is rather ugly, and wearing them outdoors might cramp style somewhat.

The headband will survive a fair amount of abuse, but the earpiece hinges don't allow for much movement in the earpieces and the foam padding isn't deep enough to compensate for this. Prolonged wear proves uncomfortable but the headphones are quite light and this helps somewhat.
