Almost for certain need a memory card, not much to do after you beat it

This was one of my first video games for Playstation. I was able to figure it out though with no difficulty. Clues along the way made it clear what your objective was and how to go about doing it.
The game itself is similar to Mario type games. You become Spyro the dragon and navigate around his world. You have to free captivated dragons as you see them by touching them. The give you advise. You also have to kill enemies. They turn into gems, which is the way of keeping track of points. You can also find gems, or blow stuff up with your fire breath to receive them. There is a set number of gems in the game and you beat the game when you find them all. The keys are simple. You use the arrow keys or joystick to navigate. The other keys change the view, help you roll, fly (or glide), or breath fire.
There are many great things about this game. The graphics are great. There are many colors, and things look realistic for a video game. The music is catchy. Every time you play there's some little thing to accomplish or notice. It is definitely a game you get addicted to easily. There were fun little puzzles to solve, bad guys to kill, and new levels to be discovered. Even so, it isn't too scary for little kids.
The levels progress nicely in difficulty. There is always some new challenge presented. Going back to level one after finishing the game, you realize how simple it is, yet level one seemed challenging when you first tried it.
To beat this game, you need a memory card unless you plan on never turning off your Playstation (If you do this, be careful of accidents and rolling black outs. I would have cried if I lost everything on the last level!). There are parts that are incredibly frustrating if you don't have a guide telling you what to do. One or two things I could not figure out for anything. I recommend finishing the game the best you can, then the guides can be found on line. Even with the guides it can be tough to get timing correct and such.
Once you beat the game, there's not a whole lot else to do other than go back and try again, or watch the way-too-long credits fly off your screen. In all seriousness, the credits are presented in a pretty cool way, but they take about 20 minutes to watch.
