Sims Castaway is Addicting!
Pros:
Fun concept, decent graphics, challenging.
Cons:
Once you've completed the game it can be boring.
The Bottom Line:
I enjoyed the game, but it might be better as a rental. Once you've achieved all of the goals it isn't fun to play it over.

The Sims Castaway for Wii is fun, but addicting and sometimes very frustrating.
When you begin you can choose the number of Sims castaways to create. I started with 2 but deleted the game and tried it with one castaway to get the hang of the game.
The downside is you can't save more than one game, so if other family members want to play you have to share the saved game.
I enjoyed finding new things and identifying new plants. I also enjoyed building subsequently better furniture, homes, cooking stoves, etc... The most fun was cooking with more and more ingredients and seeing what the recipe would turn into such as crunch fruit cups, or spicy fishballs, meat loaf and so on.
In order to achieve more goals you need to build up skills such as creativity, body, logic and so forth. You do this by harvesting plants and food, fishing and climbing trees.
This games requires the use of the Wii wand and nunchuk; i'm not very coordinated but even I did not have a problem with this.
There are many similarities to Sims 2 with the bladder control, food wants, hygiene, etc... One thing I did not like is that every time you want an item out of the castaway's back pack you have to go through several steps to retrieve something.
On the upside it's fun to achieve the goals set forth in the various "guide books". With each goal you achieve your castaway can do more things and find more islands and places to explore.
Two things you need to achieve during the game are finding pieces to a treasure map and to a hieroglyphic. I never found the last piece of the treasure map, which i found quite frustrating - so there were certain areas which I was never allowed to access. Frankly I lost interest in having my Sim run around for hours to locate the last piece of the map and i finally gave up.
I started a new game, but I'm not as interested as I was initially. Once you achieve all of the goals, that's it. Nothing new happens, you can start a new game, but it's the same as the last one. Not real exciting once you've done everything.
