Not the best choice for this platform
Pros:
It's the Sims!
Cons:
Controls are difficult to use
The Bottom Line:
Very few nice qualities with tacked-on controls. Go and play the laptop version instead.

Controls
As a Sims2 addict, I was pretty excited to try this out on the Wii. Unfortunately the Wii motion-sensor controls don't work as intuitively as I thought for the Sims. You're better off using a mouse on the PC.
- When you're making a sim, you don't have the option of pointing to feature you want to select it, you must use the joystick on the nunchuck (why?).
- It is very difficult to select an object in a 3-d space using the Wii controller. - The building tool is quite easy to use, but placing objects/doors/windows is a pain.
- Every button on the nunchuck and remote are used in different combinations for different menus/actions (aspirations, build mode, cancel action, etc), which is a lot more complicated than if they had just made it a point-and-click styled menu (then again, that wouldn't work on smaller TV's). It felt like they were trying to use every single button available.
+ A neat thing is that you can control your sim video-game style with the joystick on the nunchuck, but I usually turn it off because you can't scroll through the screen with it on.
Building and objects
- You don't get much freedom when designing your house.
- Object range is very small; the most options in objects are the ones for pets, of course.
- Unlike the PC versions, you can't place doors, windows or decorations on angled walls.
- Not much thought was put into the whole object-interaction portion of the game (for instance, you can't place anything in front of a wall mounted phone, etc.).
+ A nice feature is that when you purchase items from the stores in town, they will upgrade and unlock new items (for pets, of course).
Pets and interaction
- It's easy enough to select people/pets to interact with them with the Wii remote.
- If you select a whole chain of interactions, and want to cancel one, the only thing you have to go by is an obscure little icon (there is no description of the action when you put your cursor over the icon).
+ Pets are not controllable, which makes sense, but you can view their needs and aspirations.
- And maybe it's just on mine.. but when my pet leaves a 'puddle' on the floor I can't scold them.
Graphics
Well... its a Wii, not a PS3.
Sound
The usual Sims music and sounds.
Conclusion
Honestly, I actually only played this game for a few hours, turned it off, and haven't had the urge to play it since, which is something considering its a Sims game. I have the Sims2 and some expansions on my PC and I would much rather play that instead. I just think that the Wii controls were not meant for this kind of game.
