Author's Review
The Simpsons Season Four special edition DVD box set is a must have for any Simpsons fan. This season has twenty two episodes, special features and lots more! In this season, we get to watch as Homer starts his own snow plowing business, Mr. Plow, only to be rivaled by his best friend, Barney, as Barney starts his own snow plowing business, The Plow King. We get to laugh as we watch Bart and Lisa go to Kamp Krusty where they have the most horrible time of their lives as the are forced to eat gruel and sleep in run down cabins with barely no cover and have to endure the counselors taking away their food from home and reading aloud their letters. Another favorite episode of mine is when Homer gives up church altogether, choosing to stay home in bed and drink beer in front of the television instead of going every Sunday with his family to church to praise his father in Heaven, however, Homer learns the error of his ways as he is saved by Flanders when he falls asleep with a lit cigar, catching his house on fire. Also in this season is the next episode in the 'Treehouse of Horror' series (which started in season two and includes different scary, yet sometimes hilarious stories). The special features on season three are optional commentary for all twenty two episodes, deleted and extended scenes, animatics and storyboards, commercials and an introduction from The Simpsons creator, Matt Groening. The animation in season four is finally starting to pick up, and the lines aren't as blurry or choppy anymore. The voice acting in this one is better also, giving the Simpsons cast a better feel overall. This DVD is a great collectible and a must have for any home DVD collection.
