Scott Scott, Doug Doug, the TomTom GO 700 works great whatever you call it...

Date of Review:  Nov 16, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you want the easiest user interface and smoothest recalculations in a GPS system, the TomTom GO-700 is for you. It's slightly lacking in a few areas hence four-stars.
Review: ----- Where in the world is TomTom Sandiego? -----

I hope I'm not the only one that remembers the incredibly catchy tune by Rockapella which played during each episode of WITWI Carmen Sandiego. I know it's been about a decade (yeah, I feel...

Many Features But Unreliable In Several Ways

Date of Review:  Aug 12, 2006
The Bottom Line: Unfortunately I cannot recommend a product that has failed twice in six months time. The TeleAtlas mapping is only fair when compared to NavTeq which gives street names by voice.
Review: This review is based on six months of daily use of the TomTom GO 700. I decided on purchasing this unit as a replacement to a Lowrance IWay 500C that I reviewed months ago because the TomTom is smaller than the Lowrance which partially blocked my...

TomTom Go 700 vs. Garmin c330

Date of Review:  Aug 8, 2005
The Bottom Line: If Bluetooth compatibility and advanced route planning options aren't of much importance to you, choose the Garmin c330 for its better maps and navigation.
Review: I had a very difficult time deciding between the Garmin c330 and the TomTom Go700. I first decided on the TomTom model because of the Bluetooth phone compatibility, but returned it because it did not work with my Verizon phone. I now own the Garmin...

It'll take you there

Date of Review:  Jul 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: A good product which delivers on its core function, but without the bells & whistles you'd expect from a flagship product, and with sporadic performance shortcomings.
Review: I am new to satellite navigation. My primary motivation for buying such an accessory is leisure road trips. None of my 4 cars has satellite navigation (was not a customary option or simply not available at all when I bought them). Regardless, I...

Tomtom 700 - Great packaging, but not a long term relationship

Date of Review:  Aug 30, 2005
The Bottom Line: Don't recommend. Sub-optimal routing and directions. Gets you where you need to go, but needs better vebal directions and POI info. Two stars for packaging and bluetooth which are nice!
Review: I own a very old (5 years), very slow Garmin, so I'm not a GPS novice, and I was VERY excited by the TomTom 700's small packaging (5x5inches)and blue tooth capabilities.

The touchface screen interface is sweet, easy to use. THe menus were...

TomTom Poor Customer Service

Date of Review:  Jun 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: I was pleased with TomTom unit until I required customer service. Customer Service is non-existent. Avoid TomTom due to poor customer service.
Review: I received a TomTom Go 700 as a Christmas present in 2005. This review will not be a how to but just experience related issues. Overall, I have been pleased with this GPS. My main complaint is the length of time it takes from initially turning the...

Very Very Disappointing

Date of Review:  Sep 2, 2006
The Bottom Line: Way over priced for such poor capabilities. Buy a Garmin
Review: The TomTom 700 is such a poorly designed GPS.

I have had a number of addresses where the system will lock up when you enter the address to go. Support says it is fixed with a new software update, but I can't be bothered as the overall...

me (without doing my research) I went
out and bought it (big mistake). This is my first GPS
unit. Here is my feedback after using it for

Would Buy Again...Here's Why

Date of Review:  Apr 2, 2007
The Bottom Line: Notwithstanding the noted inconveniences, the core map functionality combined with the Bluetooth lead me to recommend the unit.
Review: This unit was recently stolen out of my car...
I'm thinking about buying it again (at the right price; bought it the first time for $299 on AMEX's Wish List).

Bluetooth worked great with my Motorola Q. It would have been nice for the...
