Does not play DVD-R well

Pros: Sound, picture, size

Cons: freezes with DVD-R, buttons are very small

The packaging does not specifically mention that is plays DVD-R. It says it "plays almost any disc" so I decided to give it a try. It recognized my disc but froze up every few seconds and then would resume. I bought it specifically to play home videos I burned for long-distance grandparents so I did not try any other formats.

The sound and picture were good between freezes though.
