You expect that when you spend $6000 on a refrigerator/freezer that it would work. It did not work from the day we bought it. Viking informed us that it was not their problem and that we would have to work it out with the company from which we bought it. The company from which we bought it said, you'll have to go through Viking. The bottom drawer designed to hold large trays constantly breaks. Ours has been replaced at a cost to us five different times in five years. We have had to replace the thermostat, the motor, the fan, the control panel (twice). These repairs are very costly, averaging $550 for each. Viking personnel at customer service promises to respond and DOESN'T. Their final word is that you must get the company where you bought the unit to agree to service the agreement for free if under warranty. In the Kansas City area, a large city, there is only one man who will work on Viking Refrigerators (bless him). Everyone else says they hate to work with the company, since the company will not pay them. The same is true for the range. We bought a VIKING combination range that has gas cook top with griddle, and electric self cleaning convection oven. I cannot tell you how many problems we have had with this range. It arrived with deep scratches in the griddle and the oven door wouldn't shut. We have replaced the door twice and it still does not shut properly. This means that we cannot use the self cleaning feature because the door latch (also replaced twice) will not unlock. We have spent thousands of dollars, each time thinking it will be our last, and in six years we still do not have and never have had a viking appliance that works. Tonight my refrigerator has once again quit working. Each time I throw out hundreds of dollars of food. PLEASE, DO NOT BUY A VIKING! EVEN IF IT IS ON SALE! EVEN IF THEY OFFER TO GIVE YOU ONE FOR FREE, DON'T TAKE IT. IT WILL ONLY COST YOU MONEY IN THE FUTURE, AND THE TIME AND COST OF WASTED FOOD IS NOT WORTH THE COST TO HAVE IT DELIVERED TO YOUR HOME. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISSATISFIED WITH ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE FROM ANY COMPANY.
