Noisy fan again after already replacing once on a 2-year old unit
Pros:
Looks great. Shallow enough to easily see fridge items.
Cons:
Poorly designed freezer drip pan and upper refrigerator fan and housing.Hard to clean freezer.
The Bottom Line:
I would shop around for other brands, and read consumer comments, before purchasing this model. It looks great but has too many design flaws for a high end refrigerator.

I bought this bottom mount freezer fridge 2 years ago as part of a kitchen remodel. It looks great BUT.. within the first year, I had to have the freezer drip plan replaced as it overflowed. Viking has since redesigned the freezer drip pan so that it has a built in heater which evaporates any accumulated water. My fridge was under warrantee, so I was fortunate enough to get replaced with Viking's newly designed, heated drip pan which evaporates any water that accumulates. That was after the original drip plan overflowed onto my hardwood floor. Thank goodness for varethane. Problem #1 solved. But then the upper fan started making loud noises. So Viking replaced that fan. Lo and behold after a year and a half, the fan is sounding louder than ever again, with high pitched, whining noises, and I understand other people who have this model have experienced the same problem. Seems there is some sort of design problem with the fan housing that makes the fan vibrate against the housing and makes high pitched, loud whirling sounds, although when the fan was first replaced in my fridge, the noise did subside for a while so I suspect the fan part itself may be part of the problem. This fridge looks great in my kitchen, but I would not purchase one again. For this expensive of a fridge, no one should be having these kinds of problems with a new/relatively new refrigerator. My 20 year old Amana did not have one of these problems. Also, the freezer drawer design is not user friendly and when full, is heavy and cumbersome to operate. Cleaning the freezer basically requires removal of the contents of the freezer, a big strong person to lift the heavy drawer out of its cabinet, and then can be cleaned. The freezer drawer itself, empty, is so heavy that it cannot be lifted by anyone but person with a ton of upper body strength. What a pain to have to wait until someone used to wielding wide, heavy objects, is available to do the heavy lifting so the freezer cabinet can be cleaned. The Viking VCBB363L is NOT a user-friendly appliance. Viking should be ashamed of itself, especially for the money they charge for these appliances.
