Much Fun to Use!

I've always wanted a fryer for the longest time and finally got one for my birthday. I'm not a big kitchen-gadget-geek nor a culinary expert, but I'm surprised at how easy it is to use this fryer. Before I go on, I'll explain the basics of the fryer.

The rectangular fryer has 6 detachable parts that make up the fryer: 1) Lid with viewing mirror 2) Fry basket with collapseable handle 3) Oil reservoir (this is where you fry) with hook (to hang fry basket for oil drainage) and an easy pour corner 4) Control panel with heating element 5) Stainless steel body 6) Detachable power cord

There are 3 controls on the control panel, the ON/OFF switch, temperature (175-375 degrees farenheit)and timer (0-30 minutes) dial. The control panel has an orange and Green LED indicator, orange light tells you if the unit is on or off, the green tells you if the oil is ready at your desired temperature.

As mentioned above, this is a very simple fryer to use. Set up was a breeze and breaking it down made it so much easier to clean. The only thing you need to be concerned about is making sure water doesn't get any contact with the controls when cleaning. The oil container, basket and the lid is dishwasher safe.

I'm surprised at how fast it took the fryer to achieve the desired temperature. I like to cook with a feel, rather than following every detailed directions in a recipe, and thus far it has done a great frying job! The one only thing you need to be aware of is the nature of the amount of food needed for frying: the more food you fry, the longer it may take to fry, plus you may have to wait for the oil to heat back up again between batches.

Other than that, I'm thoroughly pleased with the fryer. What I find to be really neat is its safety, polarized power cord. It is basically a glorified name for a magnetized power cord, but I can see its safety purpose.

Like all good things, there comes a bad, for which there really isn't any for the Waring fryer. The only thing I can see as a setback is its fixed filter on the lid. Like all other fryers available in stores, they usually come with a detachable/replaceable filter. The wiry, metal filter on the Waring fryer isn't detachable nor replaceable.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a simple to use fryer, you may want to look into buying this fryer.
