Excellent, powerful hood

Bought in August 2007, used for 4 months so far. Had this hood (AK2136S) installed over a new Windcrest cooktop, vented to outside with a short 10" pipe.

The first thing I did after the work was done was to heat my wok smoking hot and throw in a generous handful of garlic and dried chilli peppers! With our old hood everyone would have run choking from the house, but the Typhoon cleared it all out with no problem.

The controls are easy to use and intuitive. I like the fact that there are 6 speeds... I would have thought that was too many, but I regularly bump the speed up and down while cooking and appreciate them all.

The timed shut-off is great. When I finish cooking I just hit the 'timed off' button and forget about it. It sets the fan to the lowest setting and powers off after 5 or 10 minutes.

Only two minor gripes- the auto-shut-off should turn of the light, too. Second, on the higher settings it is a bit noise, but at 850CFM it is hard to complain.
