90 for 4 phones! Can?t beat the price and quality!
Date of Review: Dec 6, 2007
The Bottom Line: The cost of this product fully outweighs the number of features that this phone has.
My son decided to throw our cordless phone down the toilet and so I was forced to upgrade our phone. I purchased this set at Costco when they had a $30 off promotion and therefore it was just about $90 for 4 phones! The main reason for purchasing this set is because it had one main corded phone at the base which is critical during power outages because cordless phones will not work if the power is out. Another great feature is that the subsequent phones are plugged into a normal outlet and therefore do not need a phone jack to operate
There are a number of great features that this phone has, so I thought I would just list them here for you.
1. Remote screening: You can screen your phone calls from any cordless set which the base is recording a message. All you have to do is click on the "screen" option when the base is recording There is an option to "pick up" the call if you please
2. Remote voicemail checking: You can also check your voicemail from any cordless unit instead of going to the base to listen to it. In addition the phone has a light indicator to notify you of messages. You have the option to have a "noise" indicator, but this gets annoying when you don't want to check your messages
3. Speakerphone: Each cordless unit has speakerphone which is great with little ones. They can hold the phone up to their ear and talk and you can have the speaker on so that you can also listen to the other end of the conversation.
4. Hands free option: Each cordless unit has a 2.5mm jack for a hands free ear piece. You can switch off between the standard hands free ear piece from a cell phone to your home phone.
5. Volume Control and Ringer: Each cordless can have different ring tones. I have the cordless that is in my bedroom set to a softer ring as opposed to the other units around the house.
6. Programmable Location: You can program each cordless unit with a "room name" so that you can keep track of each unit.
7. Call ID scroll: You can scroll through the caller ID numbers from the cordless unit and can also save any numbers that are in that log. You also have the option to delete them if you want.
8. Address book: Each unit has an address book in which you can save your favorite phone numbers.
9. Other great features: Paging, room monitoring, expandable to more cordless bases, background lights up when in use.
I do want to also note that my son through one of these phones down the toilet as well. To my surprise it actually worked after I replaced the battery! I am not saying that it is waterproof, but I did manage to save it once it got fully immersed.
